IMPORTANT BEFORE PURCHASE

How do you send the watch for physical inspection?

1

Shipping to Dial-House

After purchasing the valuation after physical inspection, you send the watch to Dial-House yourself. You arrange and pay for this shipment independently - its cost is not included in the service price.

2

Return shipping to you

The PLN 19.99 added at checkout covers only the return shipment of the watch from Dial-House to you after the valuation has been completed.

The Dial-House shipping address and detailed instructions for safely preparing the watch will be sent to you after purchase.
WHAT DO WE LOOK AT?

A watch is more than a brand name.

The value of two seemingly similar watches can differ significantly. That is why we look at the particular timepiece rather than relying only on a model name or asking price.

01

Reference and version

Specific reference, production period, dial variant and configuration can materially affect market attractiveness.

02

Condition and originality

Case, dial, hands, crown, bracelet and visible signs of previous intervention are important when assessing a watch.

03

Set completeness

Box, papers, original bracelet links, straps and period accessories may influence collector appeal.

04

Current market

We compare the watch with current market availability and realistic asking and selling conditions.

05

Rarity

Some references, configurations or dial variants are significantly less common than others.

06

Future attractiveness

After physical inspection, we can identify characteristics that may support collector or potential investment interest.

BOX, PAPERS AND ACCESSORIES

Should you complete the set?

Not always. Buying a period-correct box, papers, an original bracelet or missing links may sometimes improve the appeal of a watch, but the cost is not always justified by the possible increase in value.

We tell you when completing the set makes sense - and when it probably does not.

COLLECTOR AND INVESTMENT POTENTIAL

Some watches deserve a closer look.

During physical inspection we can assess whether a particular watch has characteristics that make it especially interesting from a collector or long-term market perspective.

  • rarity of the reference or version
  • unusual or sought-after dial variant
  • originality and state of preservation
  • production period and historical context
  • availability of comparable examples
  • completeness and provenance, where documented
Assessment of investment potential is an opinion concerning the characteristics and current market position of a watch. It is not investment advice, a promise of profit or a guarantee of future price growth.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How accurate is an online watch valuation?
An online valuation provides an indicative market range based on photographs and information supplied by the owner. The result can change after physical inspection.
What photographs are needed for an online valuation?
We will ask for clear photographs of the dial, case, caseback, sides, crown, bracelet or strap and any box, papers or accessories. Additional photographs may be requested depending on the watch.
Can you value a vintage watch?
Yes. Vintage watches often require particular attention to originality, dial condition, case shape, age, reference and previous interventions.
Can a box or papers increase the value of a watch?
They can increase attractiveness in some cases, particularly for collectible watches, but purchasing missing elements does not always produce an equivalent increase in value. We assess this individually.
Do you assess investment potential?
After physical inspection, we can comment on collector and potential investment attractiveness based on rarity, originality, configuration, condition and current market position. This is not investment advice or a guarantee of future appreciation.
Is the valuation an official expert appraisal?
No. Dial-House provides a commercial market valuation intended to help the owner understand the current market position of the watch. It is not a court, insurance or certified expert appraisal.
Who pays for shipping the watch to Dial-House?
For valuation after physical inspection, the customer arranges and pays for shipping the watch to Dial-House. This shipment is not included in the service price.
What does the PLN 19.99 shipping charge cover?
The PLN 19.99 charged at checkout covers only the standard return shipment of the watch from Dial-House to the customer after the valuation. It does not cover shipping the watch to Dial-House.
